Creator Steph is a 34 year old mum of two from Bath Somerset. She now lives in Bristol UK with her two children whom are six and one, along with husband Shaun.
Steph suffered perinatal mental illness during and following pregnancy with both of her children. She has several chronic illnesses, including fibromyalgia, migraine and premenstrual dysphoric disorder and openly shares what life is like living and parenting with ill health.
Divamum was born from a need to expel the thoughts that were taking up space in her head during her first pregnancy in 2016. Since then, she has written regularly for publications such as The Mighty and FMAUK as well as being a keen fundraiser for charities such as IAPMD. Appearing on and hosting podcasts, as well as creating content for her Instagram account @divamumsteph
Steph has won several awards for her blogs and was recently nominated for two categories in the 2022 Mental Health Blogger Awards.
Divamum consists of personal essays written by Steph, sharing her experience of parenting with chronic and mental illness. She is a candid, (often sweary) mental health and disability blogger. Recently creating agony aunt feature Dear Steph to further offer her support to women, parents and the disabled community. Her blog is honest, raw and contains sensitive content around mental illness, parenting, trauma and disability that may be triggering for some readers. Steph also sometimes writes fiction and dreams of one day making writing her full time job.
